This 900-square-foot kitchen and living-area remodel was designed for homeowners who wanted a more open, comfortable, and personalized space for everyday living and entertaining.
The original kitchen and dining room felt separated, so our first priority was to create a stronger connection between the two areas. By opening the layout and repositioning the island, we improved movement through the space and created a more welcoming setting for family meals and gatherings.
A new waterfall countertop became the visual centerpiece of the kitchen. The marble-inspired surface was carried through the room to create a consistent, refined look. Wide-plank flooring added warmth and helped visually connect the kitchen with the surrounding living areas.
For the cabinetry, we selected a light beige finish with a subtle wood-grain texture and paired it with matte black hardware. The combination gives the kitchen a modern appearance without making the space feel cold. Additional cabinetry increased storage, while a custom built-in dog feeding station added a practical feature designed specifically for the homeowners’ daily routine.
Modern pendant lighting, black door trim, and carefully coordinated finishes completed the transformation. The finished space now provides more seating, better storage, improved flow, and a polished design that feels equally comfortable for quiet evenings and entertaining guests.
