Redmond Living Expansion

Location: Redmond, WA
Project Type: 900 sq ft of Living Space
Design: Slava Kachaieva
This Redmond remodeling project transformed the kitchen and living room into a spacious, connected open-concept living area. The renovation went beyond a standard kitchen update, involving significant structural work and modifications to the roof and ceiling to create a more open, expansive interior.

The completed space features a vaulted ceiling with recessed lighting, a redesigned fireplace, new hardwood flooring, and a fully remodeled kitchen centered around a large island. Natural wood cabinetry, white countertops, integrated appliances, open shelving, and warm brass fixtures create a clean, modern interior while maintaining a natural and inviting feel.

Large windows and glass doors bring natural light into the kitchen and living area and strengthen the connection to the surrounding outdoor setting. By coordinating the structural changes, kitchen design, lighting, flooring, and finishes as one project, the renovation created a significantly larger-feeling and more functional main living space.

Primary Bathroom Remodel

The primary bathroom was completely redesigned to create a spacious, modern retreat with a clean and sophisticated aesthetic. The new layout combines a freestanding soaking tub, large walk-in shower, and custom double vanity, creating distinct functional areas while maintaining an open and cohesive feel.

The walk-in shower features large-format tile, a built-in shower niche, frameless glass, and modern fixtures for a streamlined appearance. A warm wood floating vanity adds natural texture and provides generous storage, while integrated lighting and carefully selected finishes bring warmth and balance to the contemporary design.
The result is a comfortable, highly functional primary bathroom that feels refined, spacious, and consistent with the modern transformation throughout the home.

Backyard & Outdoor Living Transformation

The remodel extended beyond the interior to create a more functional and inviting outdoor living space. The backyard was upgraded with a new deck and a modern louvered pergola, creating a comfortable area for relaxing, dining, and entertaining.

The adjustable pergola provides flexibility for both sun and shade, while the updated deck creates a seamless transition between the home and backyard. Together, these improvements complete the whole-house transformation and give the homeowners an outdoor space designed to be enjoyed throughout the year.
